Daniels, Mrs. Theresa
Mrs. Daniels graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She has a minor in Early Childhood. She received her masters equivalency in 2000. Mrs. Daniels graduated with her masters degree in curriculum and instruction from Gannon University in May 2009. This is Mrs. Daniels' 20th year teaching gifted education in the Coudersport School District. She is passionate about her program and challenging the students at Coudersport Area School District. She is also an active member of P.A.G.E. - Pennsylvania Association of Gifted Education, and I.S.T.E. -International Society for Technology in Education.
In January 2014, she and her husband traveled to Rome, Italy for a week. She was thrilled to return and share her experiences with her students. Costa Rica was also another exciting trip that she took in summer of 2014 with 32 of her students, parents and colleagues. WorldStrides is the travel company she traveled with and she is looking forward to their next destination.
Mrs. Daniels was nominated for the 2012 Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education Outstanding Educator Award at the PAGE Conference in Philadephia, PA. The Outstanding Educator Award is given for the following criteria:
Outstanding performance as an educator in or beyond the classroom
Understanding the unique traits and learning needs of gifted children
Successful networking with school staff, parents, and community on behalf of gifted programs
Involvement in advocacy efforts for the gifted at local and state levels.
Mrs. Daniels has had the distinct privilege of traveling to Boston MA, Washington DC, Philadephia PA, Denver CO. While attending these conferences she has met and learned from Alan November, Erin Gruwell, Malcolm Gladwell, Dr. Robert Marzano, Stephen Covey. As part of her role as the gifted instructor at Coudersport, Mrs. Daniels has also spent time at the University of Connecticut with Dr. Joseph Renzulli, Dr. Sally Reis and other gifted educators. These are just a few of the exceptional leaders in the field of education that inspire Mrs. Daniels and teachers around the world.
Mrs. Daniels has enjoyed working closely with the classroom teachers and team teaching various subjects and creating a variety of project based activities with the students. Mrs. Daniels has also conducted several short technology sessions before and after school for all classroom teachers in grades K-12. These sessions give educators an opportunity to share and collaborate their technology ideas. In addition, she has provided sessions on internet copyright, Google Docs and the importance of technology use in the classroom as we prepare our students for the 21st Century.
In addition to her Enrichment teaching assignment, Mrs. Daniels also been teaches Title I Math to Coudersport Elementary students. This has been a very rewarding teaching experience and she looks forward to watching the growth continue.
Mrs. Daniels is also active in her own community. She is a member of the Port Allegany Youth Counselors. She enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Daniels resides in Roulette with her husband, Will, two daughters, McKaila and Maleah and their goldendoodle, Bo.
