ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM MR. MONGILLO

On April16th, 2020 the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) extended the shutdown of Schools in the state of Pennsylvania for the remainder of the school year. Knowing this, schools are encouraged to modify their Continuity of Education Plans to address "planned instruction" – moving beyond review and enrichment. The high school will begin “planned instruction” on Monday, April 27th.

Teachers will have daily virtual office hours from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm; contact can be made through their respective school emails. Teachers can also be contacted through google classroom, and schoology.

For students without internet capability, they will receive at least (3) phone calls from their teachers each week to maintain contact and help with assigned work.

Work for students will be posted on our web site by 8:00 am every Monday morning, under the Distant Learning tab. Work for students without internet capabilities will be sent home every Monday with lunch pick-ups, parents picking work up at the high school, and by mail. Returned work will be exchanged at lunch pick-ups, parents dropping work off at the high school, and through the mail. Pre posted envelopes will be provided to those families/students mailing completed work back to the school.


All grades for the 4th marking period will be pass/fail. It is extremely important that students complete their assigned work


Wi-Fi access can be attained in the high school parking lot for those that may need it. The best locations for signal strength are:

If you chose to utilize this resource, please continue to practice social distancing; remain in your vehicle while doing so.

SAT’s scheduled for June have been cancelled. The next available testing date(s) will be in August.

Graduation – There will be a virtual ceremony planned, if our situation changes, the District is willing to look at a live ceremony.

Grades – All grades for the 4th marking period will be pass/fail.

Awards Assembly - There will be a virtual ceremony planned, if our situation changes, the District is willing to look at a live ceremony.

Finals – There will NOT be end of the year finals scheduled for the 2019-2020 school year.

Scholarships – Scholarship applications are still being accepted, and recipients will be announced at our Awards Assembly/Ceremony.

Senior Trip – If our situation changes, we can try to schedule a trip.

Music banquet - Cancelled

Sports banquet - Cancelled

Concerts - Cancelled

Prom – If our situation changes, we will schedule a formal dance.

Flower sale – Tuesday, May-5th

Health records – Seniors health records will be mailed home at the end of the school year.

Scheduling – Mrs. Minard has set up google classrooms for students to make their course selections. She will be in contact will all students beginning April 27.
