Mrs. Minard began as the senior high School Counselor in August 2000.   She is a firm believer that the role of the professional school counselor is to help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career development in order to help students be prepared for life beyond high school.   
 
She is the school district Transition Coordinator for students with IEP's, NOCTI Test Coordinator, and the PSAT/SAT/ACT Test Supervisor. She is also a member of the Student Assistance Program (SAP).

 

In order to keep current with educational reform and challenges facing today’s student she participates in the ongoing professional development and maintains professional memberships in the following organizations:

 

American School Counselors Association (ASCA)

Pennsylvania School Counselors Association (PSCA)

National Career Development Association (NCDA)
Pennsylvania College Admissions Counseling Association (PACAC)
 
She earned her GCDF (Global Career Development Facilitator) certification in 2011.  The Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) is a career development facilitation certification developed jointly by CCE, the National Career Development Association, and the National Occupational Information Coordinating Committee. The U.S. certification program was developed in 1997 and is the first of the GCDF programs.The GCDF, which includes 12 career competency areas has been adapted for use in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, China, Romania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Korea and Germany.
 
Degrees:

Advanced Certification in School Counseling from St. Bonaventure University in 1999. 

M.S.Ed in Community Counseling from St. Bonaventure University in 1998

B.A in Criminal Justice from Edinboro University in 1994

She also holds a Pennsylvania State Certification as an Educational Specialist II (School Counselor).

 

Mrs. Minard currently resides in Bradford with her husband Rick and son Quentin.  She loves to read, take walks, and cook on the grill.  Even though Mrs. Minard did not grow up in Potter County, she has family ties to this area that go back generations.
